the Kenyan contingent of the African peacekeeping forces in Somalia backed by Raskanboni group have in the early hours of Sunday morning together carried out security operations in kismayo in retaliation of Al-shabab Sympathizers who habituated carrying out night time attacks on government bases.
The operations are targeted on all villages of the town including, Allanley, Fia Afmadow and Shaqaalaha district by raiding house to house and ransacking every single room.
Residents in the city said, that the forces included those of KDf forces and Raskanboni militias carried out the operations arresting number of unidentified people.
The leader of Raskanboni organization Sheikh Ahmed Madobe mentioned that the operations are conducted to eradicate and eliminate Al-shabab remnants hiding in the city.
Meanwhile, a dead body of a young man was found in the city centre on Sunday with gunshots according to residents.
Conflicting reports; say that the KDf forces and Raskanboni militias have shot him dead after ignoring a command by the allied forces ordering him to stop while unconfirmed reports say he was killed by unknown gunmen overnight.
In the last two days there have been attacks on government bases and police stations in the city by unknown attackers believed to be Al-shabab with some times heavy gunfire exchanges.
The officials in the city blamed attacks for Al-shabab insurgents and announced a night-time curfew starting from 6:00mp to 8:00am local time and urged the public to co-operate with the police by proving information to help them improve the security of Kismayo.
Al-shabab extremists have been losing grounds and strategic places since they vacated the capital city earlier this year and the fall of kismayu to the hands of the allied forces mid Aug. but since then, it began guerrilla tactics by carrying out hit and run attacks.
